Dr. Max is the leading pharmacy chain in Central Europe. Pharmacies are currently present in 6 countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Italy) with great expansion plans across Europe for the near future. The Group level headquarter Dr. Max BDC is looking for a Data Platform Owner. This role will be responsible for the overall strategy, implementation and operation of an organization's data platform. This includes data storage, processing, and access tools and services. The main goal of a Data Platform Owner is to enable and improve the organization's data-driven decision-making capabilities. Data concept is Data Lakehouse ontop of Databricks, together with other Azure Cloud Services.

What will be your responsibilities?
  • Oversee the design and architecture of the data platform, including databases, data warehouses, big data systems, data lakes, and analytics tools
  • Oversee the maintenance and performance optimization of the data platform, ensuring it remains robust, efficient, and scalable
  • Work closely with data users (such as data scientists, data analysts, and business intelligence teams), security, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the data platform supports these needs
  • Lead a team of devops engineers, database administrators, and other specialists who implement and maintain the data platform
  • Help manage the costs associated with cloud services. This might involve selecting cost-effective cloud service providers, managing cloud resources to avoid unnecessary costs, and setting up automated tools to monitor and manage costs
  • Ensure that an organization's Azure cloud solutions are successfully integrated into its broader IT infrastructure. This includes managing and supporting cloud applications 
  • Help manage and monitor the security of cloud systems, including setting up controls and policies to protect data and applications in the cloud. They also help to ensure that the cloud infrastructure aligns with an organization's security requirements and compliance mandates
  • Besides that we expect from the role as well responsibility for L2 operations (team). This includes Monitoring of data processing and incident management
What do we expect from you?
  • Bachelor’s degree with preference in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience 
  • 2+ years of Cloud, preferably Azure Platform maintenance/administration 
  • Preferably experience in Data Warehousing, Big data, BI tools, architecture and technology  
  • Effective, articulate and professional communications, both verbal and written  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail 
  • Proactive, collaborative and open-minded attitude 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Passion to learn 
  • Experience with Azure Devops or Terraform is an advantage
  • Previous work in agile methodologies is a plus
  • Fluent English (min C1 level)
