Group Data Architect

Dr.Max is the leading pharmacy chain in Central Europe. In every country where we are active, Dr.Max is dedicated to improving the level of health care available by guaranteeing access to a broad assortment of medicines and pharmacy services. We are currently present in 8 countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Italy, Bulgaria and Hungary) with great expansion plans across Europe for the near future. In this position, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining the overall data architecture landscape for whole Dr.Max Group. You will be a key member in the design and implementation of our migration to Microsoft Azure and group consolidation of Dr.Max Analytics/BI. You will represent group BI COE and participate in managing dependencies to and from other the domains. You will work closely with business teams to understand their data needs and develop solutions to support their business processes. You will be co-responsible for the maintenance of the data architecture, ensuring that it aligns with the company's overall business strategy. You will provide guidance and training to data community. Naturally, you will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to data architecture, and make recommendations for how they can be incorporated.

What will be your responsibilities?
  • Cooperate on Group Analytics/BI strategy
  • Provide thought leadership and drive architecture of Group Analytics (BI) to deliver scalable implementations using the latest cloud technologies mainly in Azure landscape
  • Set architectural vision and direction across a matrix of teams. Propose a conceptual/logical design for various data components and large volumes of data integrations
  • Apply effective governance methods for long-term scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and solution elasticity in alignment with enterprise architecture, security and infrastructure guidelines and standards
  • Oversee projects from a data-flow perspective, suggesting best practices and standards for a given functionality
  • Translate business goals and use cases into technical solutions to deliver actionable insights for various business processes (retail, e-commerce, supply chain etc.)
  • Become the technical SPoC for key stakeholders
  • Provide supervision and guidance to the implementation team to ensure the project is implemented according to architectural direction and business requirements
  • Foster full DevOps / DataOps automation of continuous development/test/deployment processes
  • Support Data Management initiatives
What do we expect from you?
  • Master’s degree
  • Proficient in architecture methodologies and tools
  • Strong technical leadership, organizational skills, mentorship and collaboration
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • 5+ years of experience in design and implementation of data solutions in relevant areas (Large-scale Data Lake / DataLakehouse / DataWarehouse solutions)
  • Understanding of data concepts and patterns, data management
  • Understanding of data pipelines / ETL / APIs etc.
  • Fluent English (min C1 level)

 

As a bonus would be experience in:

  • Experience with MS Azure stack (Data Factory, Data Lake, Event Hub, Synapse, Databricks, etc.)
  • Data visualization like PowerBI, Tableau…
  • Advanced data analytics (ML/AI, Predictive Analytics, Data Science)
  • Data Vault 2.0 methodology
  • Data Management foundations (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK)
  • Working in agile methodologies
  • DataOps approach
